Physical Education Center (P.E. Center)

The Physical Education Center (PE Center) is the primary facility for the PSU Athletic Department.  Opened in 1969, the building includes department offices, a 1,500 seat gymnasium; a six-lane, 25-yard swimming pool; indoor field house; a wrestling room, The Vailas Performance Center fitness facility, and the Athletic Training and rehabilitation facility.  The P.E. Center is surrounded by over 30 acres of athletic fields.

Anyone using the P.E. Center facilities must have either a current student or faculty ID or a facility pass!  Facility passes can be purchased in the main office of the P.E. Center.  In order to purchase a facility pass, you must be 19 years or older.  There are no guests permitted.

The pass allows owners to use the recreational facilities at the P.E. Center whenever they are open to the students.  This includes the racquetball courts, walking track, the Vailas Performance Center, three basketball courts and a six-lane, 25-yard swimming pool.  Locker room facilities are also available.

Requirements to Purchase a Facility Pass:

  • Individuals must be 19 years or older to purchase a pass. 
  • Passes cost: 
    • $35 one month from date of purchase  
    • $20 for two weeks (14 days) from date of purchase 
    • $10 per day, pass valid for date of purchase only 

Facility Pass Guidelines:

  • No guests are allowed to accompany pass holders including guest children. All guests must purchase a pass of some level (ex: day pass) 
  • Dependent children between the ages of 3 and 18 are allowed to use the swimming pool. They must be accompanied by a parent. 
  • Please no swim/regular diapers in the pool.  
  • Children are not allowed to use any other facilities without supervision of pass holder. No Children under the age of 16 are permitted in the weight room.   
  • You must have your pass with you at all times, this includes the pool deck, and present it to any member of the staff that requests it.

  • Alumni must purchase a pass. 
  • PSU does not currently offer any swim lessons for youth or adult. Please contact Pemi-Baker Community Health at Boulder Point in Plymouth at 536-2232.
  • Individual swim lessons with a hired instructor are not to be conducted during open swim hours.
  • Groups looking to use the pool should contact the main office (535-2770) for scheduling. We will do our best to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee we will be able to do so.

          Whenever PSU is closed for a holiday or declares a delayed opening or cancellation of classes due to inclement weather or an emergency, the PE Center (including the pool) will be closed. To check for closings call the PSU Storm Line at 603-535-3535 or go online at www.plymouth.edu

The PE Center, including the pool,  will be closed to the public on the following holidays in 2018: Jan. 15, Mar. 16-25, May 28, July 4, Sept. 3, Oct. 8, Nov. 12, Nov. 22-23, Dec. 22-31 and during any inclement weather delayed openings/closures.
